Sourdough Starter
Sourdough Starter is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 1/2 c. warm water, 2 c. flour, 1 tbsp. salt and 1 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
Measure flour, salt and sugar into gallon jar (will bubble to four times its volume).
Stir in yeast and cold water.
Cover with cheesecloth.
Let stand in warm place (80° to 90° is ideal), stirring down daily, 3 or 4 days.
It should have pleasantly sour odor.
Starter is ready. Use at once or store tightly covered in refrigerator in quart jar.
