Sorghum Cake
Sorghum Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. shortening, 2 eggs, 1/2 c. sorghum or honey and 1/2 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Preheat oven to 350Β°. Mix sugar and shortening. Add eggs, sorghum or honey and buttermilk. Sift together remaining ingredients; add to sugar, shortening and egg mixture and blend well. Bake in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan, greased and lightly floured, 30 to 40 minutes. Test for doneness; insert a wooden pick in center.
