Sopaipillas
Sopaipillas is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 3/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1 tbsp. sugar and 1/2 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Combine first 4 ingredients in bowl, mix well.
Cut in shortening until crumbly.
Make well in center.
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
Add to scalded milk after cooled in bowl. Pour into dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Knead 15 to 20 times.
Let stand for 10 minutes.
Roll 1/4-inch thick on floured surface; cut into squares or triangles.
Deep fry at 420Β° until puffed and golden brown.
Yields 24 servings.
