Soft Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. buttered crisco, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Shortening and sugar; beat well. Add vanilla and lemon juice. and beat until light. Add flour, soda and salt; alternate with buttermilk.
Drop by tablespoonful and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Top with raisins.
Bake at 350Β° for 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
