Soft Gingerbread
Soft Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1 c. baking molasses, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 2 1/2 c. flour and 2 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. boiling water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Put sugar, molasses, butter, soda, ginger, cloves, cinnamon and butter in bowl and dissolve 2 teaspoons soda in 1 cup boiling water.
Hold soda water over bowl as it foams over cup.
Beat together. When well beaten, add 2 well beaten eggs the last thing before baking.
Bake in an oblong pan at 325Β° for 45 to 50 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream or as desired.
