Soft English Toffee Bars is an easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter, 1 (16 oz.) bag milk chocolate chips, saltine crackers, 1 c. brown sugar and nuts (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Generously butter a jelly roll pan; line it with a single layer of crackers and set aside.
In a saucepan, boil butter and brown sugar for 3 minutes.
Pour this over crackers and bake 7 minutes at 400Β°.
Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
When melted, spread chips evenly over crackers.
Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
Cool and break into pieces (or cut into 1 to 2-inch squares with a sharp knife).
