Smothered Steak
Smothered Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. round steak, 2 tbsp. fat, salt, pepper and 1 can cream of mushroom soup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cut steak into servings; sprinkle with salt and pepper and dip in flour.
Fry in a couple of tablespoons of fat until brown on both sides.
Then add soup (use the can from which it came to measure the water) and Worcestershire sauce.
Cover and simmer on top of stove, turning over the pieces at least once.
Cook until it can be cut with a fork (from 1 1/2 to 2 hours).
