Skillet Taco Pie
Skillet Taco Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 2 tbsp. taco seasoning mix, 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce, 1 3/4 c. biscuit mix and 1/2 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Preheat oven to 400Β°.
In 10 or 11-inch ovenproof skillet, brown ground beef.
Drain excess fat.
Add taco seasoning mix and tomato sauce to browned beef.
Simmer 5 minutes.
Spread mixture in skillet; remove from heat.
In bowl, blend biscuit mix and milk. On floured surface pat dough to form a circle 1 inch smaller than skillet.
Transfer dough to top of browned beef.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
Place large platter upside down on skillet.
Turn over to transfer taco pie on platter.
Sprinkle cheese over beef mixture; distribute lettuce on top of cheese.
Put tomatoes on center of cheese.
Make 6 dollops of sour cream on pie.
Cut into 6 wedges.
