Shrimp Toasts
Shrimp Toasts is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large onion, quartered, 1 (12 to 16 oz.) pkg. frozen, cooked shrimp, 1 can water chestnuts, cut in half, 1 egg and 1 tbsp. cornstarch, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Grind together the first 3 ingredients or grate in blender. Press down lightly with rubber spatula until grated, then turn onto blend and add next 4 ingredients.
Remove crusts from white bread and spread mixture on one side of bread.
Sprinkle flavored bread crumbs on top.
Fry on both sides until brown with a little oil.
Drain on toweling.
Cut in fourths on the diagonal and serve or freeze.
If frozen, put in oven at 350Β° for 20 minutes before serving.
Makes a bunch!
