Cream butter and 2 cups of confectioners sugar.
Beat in vanilla and salt.
Gradually stir in flour until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
Dough will be stiff.
Shape into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten with a fork to 1 1/2-inch rounds.
Bake at 350Β° for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
Remove to rack.
While cookies are still warm, roll tops in remaining 3 tablespoons of confectioners sugar. Cool.
