Shoo-Fly Pie
Shoo-Fly Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. flour, 3/4 c. dark brown sugar, 1 tbsp. shortening, 1 c. coconut and 1 egg, slightly beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix flour, sugar, shortening and coconut to form crumbs. Reserve 1/2 cup for topping.
In another bowl, mix egg, honey and 3/4 cup hot water.
Add dry mixture.
Dissolve soda in remaining 1/4 cup hot water and add to mixture.
Pour into pie shell and sprinkle crumbs on top.
Bake at 375Β° for 35 minutes.
This pie will keep for several days without refrigeration.
