Shoo-Fly Pie
Shoo-Fly Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. molasses, 1 egg, 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 3/4 c. boiling water and 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

In a bowl, mix molasses, egg, soda and water.
In a second bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and spices.
Work with your fingers until even crumbs form.
Sprinkle 1/3 of the flour mixture into the pie crust.
Pour on 1/2 of the molasses mixture.
Repeat with 1/3 of flour mixture and remaining molasses mixture.
Top with remaining flour mixture.
Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350°.
Bake 20 minutes more or until filling is firm when shaken.
