Shoo-Fly Pie
Shoo-Fly Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell, 1 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour, 1/2 c. light brown sugar, 2 tbsp. butter, softened and 1 1/4 c. molasses, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Combine flour and brown sugar.
Cut butter into the mixture to make coarse crumbs.
In another bowl, combine molasses, egg and 3/4 cup hot water.
Stir soda into 1/4 cup hot water.
Immediately fold into molasses mixture.
Pour half of the molasses mixture into pie shell.
Top with half of crumbs, all but 1/4 cup of remaining molasses mixture in a spiral over top of pie.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 to 50 minutes until nicely browned and center appears firm when pie plate is gently shaken.
Cool to room temperature before cutting.
