Shoo-Fly Cake
Shoo-Fly Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 2 c. sugar, 1 c. shortening, 1 c. baking molasses (green label) and 2 c. hot water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Mix flour, sugar and shortening.
Do not use beaters.
Mix like pie crumbs in a large bowl.
Save 1 cup of crumbs for top of cake.
In another bowl, mix molasses, hot water and baking soda. Add to crumbs.
Stir and put into a large greased and floured pan. Top with 1 cup of reserved crumbs.
Bake at 350Β° for 50 to 60 minutes.
