Made with 3/4 c. psalms 55:21a (1/2 c. shortening and 1/4 c. oil), 1 c. jeremiah 6:20 (sugar), 3 isaiah 10:14 (eggs), 2 1/4 c. 1 kings 4:22a (flour) and 1 tsp. 1 corinthians 5:6 (baking powder), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cream shortening, oil and sugar together, then add eggs, one at a time.
Proverbs 23:14 (beat) well.
Sift and measure flour, baking powder and salt.
Add alternately to sugar mixture with milk.
Stir in honey and spices, then raisins, figs (or dates) and almonds.
2 Kings 4:5 (pour) into well-greased vessels (loaf pans or a 9 x 13-inch pan) and Leviticus 24:5 (bake) for 45 minutes.
