Scalloped Tomatoes
Scalloped Tomatoes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. chopped onion, 3 tbsp. melted butter or margarine, 3 slices bread, cubed, 1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up and 1 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Saute onion in butter until soft.
Add bread cubes and toss together.
Combine tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper.
Place half the tomato mixture in greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Top with half the bread mixture.
Repeat layers.
Bake in a 350Β° oven for 50 minutes.
Put under broiler 2 to 3 minutes to brown the top.
