Prepare sausage in covered skillet, using 2/3 to 3/4 cup water.
Simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
Prepare mashed potatoes.
Put sauerkraut in casserole dish, using some of the liquid.
Season, if desired.
Cut sausage into serving pieces and place on the sauerkraut.
Then spoon the mashed potatoes on the sausages. Place casserole in 325° to 350° oven for 30 minutes.
