Sausage Casserole
Sausage Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. pork sausage, 1 stalk celery, 1 c. raw rice, 1 1/2 pkg. dry chicken noodle soup mix and 1/2 bell pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Saute sausage scrambling until brown.
Remove to casserole dish.
Pour off all but 1 1/2 tablespoons of drippings.
Saute celery, pepper and onion in drippings until tender (not brown). Mix rice and chicken noodle mix with 4 1/2 cups water.
Boil 20 minutes.
Stir to keep from sticking.
Mix with sausage seasoning. Sprinkle almonds on top and bake 20 minutes on 325Β°.
