Sauerkraut with Brown Sugar
Sauerkraut With Brown Sugar is an easy dinner. Made with 1 large jar sauerkraut, drained and rinsed well, 1 or 2 medium onions, chopped or sliced, 1/2 c. brown sugar (more if desired) and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Saute onions in butter or margarine until just opaque.
Remove from skillet.
Add more butter and lightly brown sauerkraut. Reduce heat, add onions, salt, pepper and brown sugar over top of kraut.
Cover and simmer 1/2 hour.
Wieners or precooked spareribs can be added, if desired, for a one dish meal.
