Sandies
Sandies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 1/4 c. confectioners sugar, 1 tbsp. water, 2 tsp. vanilla and 2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Set oven at 350Β°.
Cream the butter until fluffy; gradually add sugar, beating until smooth.
Beat in water and vanilla. Alternately add flour and nuts, blending after each addition. With lightly floured hands, roll dough in small balls or date-shaped pieces.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet, about 1-inch apart.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Roll in confectioners sugar as soon as taken from oven.
Makes 3 dozen.
