Salt Risin Bread

Peel and slice potatoes.
Add cornmeal, sugar, salt and boiling water.
Wrap mixture in a heavy cloth.
Cover and allow to stand in a warm place overnight.
Remove potatoes.
Add milk, water, soda, salt and shortening.
Add enough flour to make dough stiff enough to knead until smooth and elastic.
Form dough into 3 loaves.
Place in well-greased pans.
Cover and let rise until doubled.
Bake in preheated oven at 400Β° until done.
