Russian Tea Cake
Russian Tea Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 1 1/3 c. sugar, 1 1/3 c. butter or margarine, melted, 1/8 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Mix together first 6 ingredients.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix and divide dough in half.
Press 1/2 of the dough into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Spread cherry pie filling on top.
Press other half of dough onto wax paper the size of pan, then turn onto pie filling in pan.
Bake at 350Β° for about 30 minutes, until brown. While hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
