Rice Pulao
Rice Pulao is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1 large onion, chopped, 2 cloves, 2 cardamom pods, crushed and 2-inch piece stick cinnamon, crushed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Make ghee or clarified butter by melting butter and discarding solids.
Pour into a 5-quart nonstick saucepan.
Add onion, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, peppercorns and bay leaves.
Cook, stirring over medium heat until onion is golden brown.
Reduce heat and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of water.
Stir once.
