Refried Beans
Refried Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. water, 8 oz. dried pinto beans, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 clove garlic, chopped and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Heat water, beans, onion and garlic to boiling in 2-quart saucepan.
Boil 2 minutes.
Remove from heat, cover and let stand 1 hour.
Add just enough water to cover beans and add salt.
Heat to boiling; reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
(Add water if necessary!)
When done, mash beans and top with crumbled bacon. Great for burritos or nachos.
Can be frozen for later.
