Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 cup crisco oil or butter, or 1 stick butter and 1 stick margarine, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 2 eggs, 2 oz. red food coloring and 2 level tablespoons cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs.
Make a paste of coloring and cocoa and add this to butter mixture. Add everything except the vinegar and soda.
Beat. After beating, add vinegar and soda.
Mix well and pour into two layer pans that have been greased and floured bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
