Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. crisco shortening, 2 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 oz. red food coloring and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cream Crisco and sugar; add vanilla coloring.
Add eggs and cream well.
Sift and measure flour and cocoa.
Sift 3 times.
Add to mixture alternately with milk.
Fold in soda and vinegar.
Pour into a greased 13 x 9-inch cake pan; bake at 375Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.
Ice with following icing when cool.
