Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. crisco shortening, 2 tbsp. red cake coloring (i use 2 small bottles to make a deep red), 1 tsp. soda, 2 tsp. cocoa and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, one at a time.
Beat well.
Make a paste of the cocoa and coloring; add to the mixture. Combine salt, vanilla and buttermilk.
Add alternately with the flour.
Beat well.
Do not beat, but fold in vinegar and soda, mixing well.
Make 3 layers.
Bake at 350Β°.
