Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 (1 oz.) bottles red food coloring, 3 tbsp. nestle quik, 1/2 c. crisco, 1 1/2 c. sugar and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Mix the food coloring and Nestle Quik together and set aside. Cream the Crisco and sugar.
Beat in the eggs. Add the coloring paste and beat a long time, until smooth.
Combine the flour, salt and soda and sift 3 times.
Mix the buttermilk with the vanilla. Alternate with flour and add to the first mixture.
Add the vinegar and mix by hand.
Bake in 3 layers at 350Β° for about 25 minutes.
