Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 2 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream shortening, sugar, salt, eggs, vanilla and butter flavoring.
Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring.
Add to first mixture.
Alternately add flour and buttermilk.

Add to batter; blend.
