Raw Apple Cake
Raw Apple Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. cold water and 1 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Stir together sugar, egg and shortening.
Add baking soda and cold water; stir.
Then add flour, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and salt.
Stir, then add raisins, apples and nut meat if desired. Mix well; pour into pan (any size).
Bake at 360Β° for 30 to 40 minutes or until done.
Let cool 10 minutes, then spread with margarine and sprinkle with brown sugar.
