Drain beets, reserving 1/3 cup liquid.
In medium saucepan, combine reserved beet liquid and raisins.
Cover.
Simmer until raisins are plump, about 5 minutes.
Combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir into raisins in pan.
Add lemon juice and butter.
Cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thickened.
Stir in beets and simmer until mixture is heated through, about 5 minutes.
