Raisin Bread
Raisin Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. milk, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter or margarine and 1/2 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Soak raisins for 20 minutes in hot water before bread is mixed.
Drain and let cool.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Heat milk to lukewarm.
Then add all liquids to 1/2 of flour mixture to make soft dough.
Add beaten eggs and raisins.
Stir well and add balance of flour.
Turn out on floured board.
Knead well.
Put in oiled bowl; let rise 50 minutes, then divide in half.
Shape into 2 loaves.
Bake in a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan after dough has doubled in size.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.
