Punch Bowl Trifle
Punch Bowl Trifle is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 cans crushed pineapple, 1 pkg. yellow cake mix, 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding, 2 cans cherry pie filling and 4 medium ripe bananas, sliced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Drain the pineapple saving the juice.
Prepare cake batter as package says, using the juice instead of water.
Add some water if needed.
Bake as directed in 9 x 13-inch pan.
Cool; cut cake into 1-inch squares.
Prepare the pudding by package directions.
Place 1/2 cake into punch bowl.
Top with half of the pudding, then 1/2 of each of the following: pie filling, pineapple, banana, fruit cocktail, oranges, whip topping and coconut.
Then do the same again.
Cover and chill for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Serves 55.
