Pumpkin Bread

Cream sugar and shortening.
Sift 2 1/2 cups flour, spice, soda, and salt together.
Add pumpkin and sugar mixture.
Add eggs 1 at a time.
Blend well after each additions.
Combine nuts and remaining flour.
Add vanilla last.
Mix well.
Pour into loaf pan. Bake at 300Β° for 1 1/2 hours.
