Strip cream out of cookies.

Crush cookies to coarse crumbs and set aside.

Dissolve unflavored gelatin in the cold water. Let stand 10 minutes.

Add hot water.

Stir and let cool.

Beat egg whites until stiff.

Add sugar; mix with electric mixer.

Fold in gelatin mixture.

Whip the whipping cream.

Fold it into egg whites and gelatin mixture.

Add vanilla to taste.

Layer half the crushed crumbs into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

Pour mixture on top. Top with remaining half of crumbs.

Freeze overnight.

Serve frozen.
