Pound Cake
Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter, 1 tsp. vanilla, 5 eggs, 3 c. flour and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Heat oven to 350Β°.
Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan.
Cream butter, shortening, vanilla and sugar (adding small amounts of sugar at a time).
Add eggs, one at a time.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or until cake tester comes out dry.
