Separate eggs.

Whip whites with 6 tablespoons sugar.

Place in refrigerator.

Cream softened butter and add sugar gradually. Add egg yolks two at a time.

Fold in beaten egg whites (this is important). Bake in greased tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 300Β°.
