Mix together the 1/2 cup margarine, salt, pepper, onion, soup, sour cream and cheese.
Add thawed potatoes and blend carefully. Pour mixture into buttered 3-quart casserole.
Mix 1/4 cup melted margarine and corn flakes together and sprinkle over the top. Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes.
