Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) cake pans.
Cream together until fluffy, sugar and shortening.
Beat in thoroughly 4 eggs.
Sift together all dry ingredients.
Fold in mashed potatoes.
Add coffee and milk mixture alternately with flour; fold in raisins, nuts and vanilla.
Bake in 275Β° oven 45 minutes or until done. Cool and ice with chocolate frosting.
