Polish Babka
Polish Babka is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter, 1 1/4 c. milk, scalded and 2 pkg. active yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Scald milk, add sugar and butter.
Dissolve yeast with a little of the warm milk mixture in bowl and then add to remaining milk mixture.
Add one half of the flour and beat well. Add salt to eggs and beat until thick.
Add to mixture and mix well.
Add the rest of the flour, orange and lemon rind.
Knead for 15 minutes, then add the raisins and nuts.
If dough is sticky, add more flour.
Cover and let rise in a greased bowl until double in bulk.
