Plum Cake
Plum Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 50 minutes. Made with c. flour, c. sugar, . salt, c. scalded milk and c. butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Slowly add milk, eggs and shortening.
Beat well. Add salad oil, vanilla and yeast mixture.
Beat until dough comes off bottom of bowl.
Knead until smooth and elastic.
Place in a greased bowl and let rise until doubled.
Punch down dough and roll out.
Place on cookie sheet (same size as dough).
Cut each plum in half and slit into quarters.
Be generous with plums. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
