Plantation Pecan Pie
Plantation Pecan Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. butter (not margarine), 1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar, 1 c. light corn syrup, 1 tbsp. evaporated milk or cream and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cream butter and gradually add sugar.
Add syrup and evaporated milk.
In a separate bowl, add salt to eggs and beat until light.
Stir well into first mixture.
Add vanilla and pecans.
Use 1 cup nuts for halves, 1 1/2 cups if using broken pieces.
Pour into pie shell. Bake in preheated oven at 400° for 10 minutes.
Lower heat to 350° and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
