Plain Pastry Pie Dough
Plain Pastry Pie Dough is an easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sifted flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. shortening and 4 to 5 tbsp. cold water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Sift the flour and salt together.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender.
Sprinkle water a tablespoon at a time and mix with a fork.
Form into a ball, put on lightly floured board and roll very thin.
Roll onto rolling pin and unroll over pie pan. Even edges and flute.
(Save some of the dough for lattice on fruit pies.)
