Pineapple Sauce
Pineapple Sauce is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 (1 lb. 4 oz.) cans crushed pineapple, 2 tbsp. lemon juice, 2 tbsp. and 1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch, 2 tbsp. sugar and 1/8 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Drain pineapple, saving the juice.
Add lemon juice to pineapple juice.
In heavy saucepan, stir together cornstarch, sugar and salt.
Gradually add pineapple juice.
Mix until smooth. Place over medium heat and cook until mixture thickens and boils. Boil about 1 1/2 minutes.
Remove from heat; add 6 drops of food coloring and vanilla.
Let cool and refrigerate.
Excellent on angel food cake.
