Sift together flour and salt.

Cut shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives.

Sprinkle water over mixture.

Round into ball and roll out on a lightly floured board 1 1/2 inches larger than inverted 8-inch pie pan.

Place loosely in pie pan.

Fold edge under or over to make stand-up collar.

Prick thoroughly with a fork to prevent puffing.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 475Β°.
