Pickled Pears
Pickled Pears is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 gal. pears, peeled and cut into 1/4 to 1/2 pieces, 5 c. sugar, 2 c. water, 4 c. vinegar and 2 pieces ginger root, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Place all spices in a cloth bag or nylon net.
Combine water, sugar, spices and vinegar in a pot and cook for 10 minutes.
Add pears and 1/2 bottle of food coloring (red or green).
