Blend with electric mixer the shortening, flour, salt and sugar until crumbly.
Add egg, vinegar and water.
Mix with mixer until it is dampened.
Form into balls and roll on a lightly floured board.
This will make 4 or 5 flaky, tender pie crusts.
Refrigerate before rolling if sticky.
