Pepper Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. round steak, 2 tbsp. shortening, 1 envelope onion soup mix, 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch and 2 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Cut meat into strips.
In large skillet, brown meat.
Stir in soup mix and 2 cups water.
Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in pepper strips; cook.
Simmer until meat and pepper are tender. Blend cornstarch with 1/2 cup of water.
Stir in skillet until thick.
Serve over rice.
