Pecan Sticks
Pecan Sticks is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, 1 egg, separated, 2-1/2 cups plain flour, 1 c. sugar plus 1 tsp. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolk.
Sift flour, nutmeg and cinnamon together.
Gradually add to butter mixture.
Pat the dough into a well greased oblong pan.
Add 1 teaspoon sugar to beaten egg white and brush on top of dough.
Add pecans and press in.
Bake at 350Β° for 20 minutes or until light brown.
Let cool slightly.
Cut into 1 x 2 inch sticks while still warm.
