Cream butter and sugar together in a medium bowl until light and fluffy.

Stir in salt, almond extract, flour and nuts.

Mix well.

Chill dough for several hours.

Shape dough into small balls; place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake in moderate oven (350Β°) for 12 to 15 minutes.

Transfer to wire racks.

While still warm, roll in confectioners sugar.

When cookies have cooled completely, sprinkle with more confectioners sugar.

Makes about 5 dozen.
